Adjusting to the University System in Canada
In our “Adjusting to the University System in Canada” workshop series, which we have developed specifically for 1st and 2nd year students in Canada, topics such as adapting to university life, adapting to social life and learning to live away from family will be discussed. Preparing for the dynamics of the transition from high school to university, prioritizing and coping with stress will be emphasized. Practical information such as career exploration, CV preparation and interview techniques will also be shared.

For students starting their studies in Canada, the university experience can be exciting but also challenging. Getting accustomed to a new academic system, acquiring a social environment and adapting to independent living are important transformation processes, especially for international students.
Topics to be covered in this workshop:
✅ University Culture and Academic Dynamics in Canada: Course selection, strategies for academic success, the grading system and homework obligations.
✅ Social Adaptation and Cultural Differences: How to communicate with people from different cultures, join student clubs, and expand your social circle through activities.
✅ Living Away from Family and Independent Life: Practical tips on time management, financial planning and daily life skills.
✅ Coping with Challenges and Mental Health: Stress management, coping with academic concerns and accessing support mechanisms.
✅ Career Exploration and First Steps: How to identify a career path in the first years of university, explore interests, prepare a CV and gain experience with student jobs.
