Custodianship in Canada

We offer custodianship services for students under the age of 18 who wish to study in Canada. Custodianship is a mandatory practice according to Canadian law. Through our custodianship services, international students are represented by an adult during their education in Canada. This ensures that students receive support for their educational, health, social, and cultural needs.

The person providing the custodianship service is referred to as the custodian. The custodian is the individual who stays with the student while their family remains in Turkey. The custodian maintains communication with the school, monitors the student's academic performance, and intervenes when necessary. Additionally, the custodian takes care of the student's health issues, arranges doctor's appointments, and accompanies them to the hospital in emergencies.

Students who receive custodianship services experience a safe and comfortable educational journey in Canada. The custodian regularly reports to the student's family, shares updates about the student's situation, and acts as a bridge between the family and the student. This way, students receive support both in Canada and Turkey and do not feel alone.

Custodianship Process in Canada

The custodianship process in Canada begins before the student arrives and continues throughout their education. The steps involved in the custodianship process are as follows:

  • First, a custodianship agreement is signed between the student's family and the custodian. This agreement outlines the custodian's responsibilities and fees.

  • Next, the custodian prepares a custodianship letter required for the student's entry into Canada. This letter is a necessary document requested by the Canadian Immigration Office.

  • When the student arrives in Canada, the custodian meets them at the airport and takes them to their accommodation. The custodian helps the student settle into their accommodation, introduces them to the surroundings, and provides for their initial needs. Subsequently, the custodian enrolls the student in their educational institution and communicates with the school. The custodian learns the school's rules, calendar, and expectations and informs the student accordingly. Additionally, the custodian arranges health insurance for the student and addresses health issues, setting up doctor's appointments and accompanying the student to the hospital in emergencies.

  • The custodian also monitors the student's academic performance and intervenes when necessary. They check the student's class attendance, grades, and absences, motivating the student as needed. Furthermore, the custodian supports the student's social and cultural needs, helping them adapt to Canadian culture, make friends, and utilize their free time effectively.

  • Finally, the custodian regularly reports to the student's family, sharing updates about the student's situation and acting as a bridge between the family and the student.
